Bio: I have been jumping for 11 years. My older siblings were in the jump rope club at our elementary school. I tagged along their practices and enjoyed every aspect of the sport. When it was time for the team to break away from the elementary school, I followed enthusiastically and have been jumping rope ever since. My highest tournament achievements include at Regionals – 1st place, Nationals – 8th place. It is a fun and entertaining sport that keeps your body in shape and teaches important life lessons, such as discipline, respect, and team cooperation. When I have a period of time away from jump rope, I feel deprived of exercise and quality time with my teammates. I can’t imagine my life without jump rope. My favorite aspect about jump rope is that I able to travel around the world. Jump rope has taken me to Israel, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and several states in America. I can associate with new people, visit new places, and experience new cultures, all through the sport of jump rope. Jump rope has shaped the person I am now. The sport has taught me how to act in certain situations, how to respect my elders, how to deal with stress, how to better manage my time, how to discipline myself, how to reward myself, and so on and so forth. The sport of jump rope has benefited me tremendously. Jump rope has also kept me healthy all of these years. I’ve never been on a diet nor have I had to watch my weight. Jump rope always took care of that. I have to admit that when I don’t jump rope, I feel like I age twice as fast. My joints seem to complain to me and I am always reminded to bring back jump rope into my life. My goal is to obtain 1st place in Nationals in any of the 3 events: speed, power, and freestyle. I also desire to keep jump rope in my life and hopefully pass it down to my children in the future.
