Bio: I have been jumping for the past 11 years. I joined a jump rope club in elementary school; I fell in love with the sport and stuck with it. With my teammates we “made stage” eighth place overall at Nationals in double dutch qualifying us for World trials. I jump rope for the love of the sport, to stay fit and enjoy the great sportsmanship. My favorite thing in jump rope is getting the opportunity to meet people from around the world and sharing a common interest. Jumping rope has positively affected me by helping do well in school. My future goal in jump rope is to break world records.

ST. PETERSBURG – More than 40 youth participated in this past Saturday’s jump rope workshop held at the Thomas “Jet” Jackson Recreation Center. Veteran jump rope coach, Yvonne Moody, and her team the Hurricane Jumpers came from Miami to teach the basics: speed, power and freestyle.
